The next video captures the essence of Jurassic Park and perfectly explains why the new movie born without a heart (as so many movies these days).

Cats! Do we need to say more? Maybe a little bit. The concept of reputation is used to pass information about someone’s behaviour without having to interact directly with that person. In other words, if someone is a bad person, you can be aware of it in advance, and also in the other way, if someone is good, it is good to know. Surprisingly, this not only applies to humans, it is also true between other animals like dogs, and in between dogs and humans (yes, your dog will tell other dogs if you are good or bad for him). The next experiment aims to study if this type of reputation knowledge applies also for cats, and if cats share the reputation with other cats, so they can know which human they can trust or which one they should avoid.
A group of scientist consider ageing as a disease and wants to treat it. The key solution? We don’t know yet, but what we know for sure is that regeneration will be an important part of the solution. Why some animals regenerate better than others? Why it is easier for them to recover completely from injuries, from amputated limbs… Why there is few examples among mammals? Wouldn’t be nice to come back from surgery without scars or permanent damage to internal organs? Solving these questions and others is the aim of the next project which is focused on one type of mammal that has the ability of regenerate. By backing this project you will contribute to expand your own life spam, isn’t it a good perspective to live more?
Keeping an eye on our oceans health is mandatory if we want to keep living in this planet. That’s why I choose the next project.
I rarely suggest funding movies, I only do it when it is something very geek to made money out of it but it still deserves to be done. In this case, it is important that we constantly encourage people to know more about science. Because science is not something some people do, it is an approach to understand and behave with the world, and everybody can gain by using the scientific approach in their daily life. Does this product really does what it says? How do I know it is true? Ask questions, investigate, learn and then improve your life.
The next project aims to make people more concious about products that advertise as doing something they really don’t do. Science moms!
The project this week aims to identify neurons that create rhythmic signals. Those signals can be used to breathe for instance, but also for walking or timing movement.
